If you are sexually active and/or sharing needles, we recommend getting tested for HIV every three monthsor at least once a year.
Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)
PrEP is a medication taken by people who are HIV-negative to reduce the risk of contracting HIV. PrEP is recommended for patients who are at higher risk of HIV infection (men who have sex with men, injection drug users and sex workers)
Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)
PEP is a short-term treatment taken after potential exposure to HIV to prevent the virus from establishing an infection in the host. It is important for PEP to be taken within 72 hours of exposure, to be most effective.
